A Divine Encounter with Craig
Last night, around midnight, I was scrolling through TikTok when I came across a video that stopped me in my tracks. A gentleman—let’s call him Craig—was visibly upset. A veteran who had served in combat overseas, he was now living in his car with his dog, struggling with PTSD. That day, he had visited two churches, both of which encouraged him to keep his faith and trust in the Lord. But in his pain, he just couldn’t see or hear God.
Normally, I would have kept scrolling. But something stirred in my spirit—God put it on my heart to reach out. So, I left an encouraging message, along with my phone number, and asked him to call if he needed someone to talk to.
As I prayed for Craig, my phone rang. It was him.
Still overwhelmed with emotion, he must have just recorded that video moments before. I listened as he shared his story, his struggles, and his pain. Then, I shared my testimony with him. I told him about my own journey, about how God had met me in my darkest moments. As we talked, I could hear the weight lifting from his voice. By the end of our conversation, he sounded different—calm, at peace.
I share this today as a reminder that we never truly know what someone else is going through. Sometimes, all they need is a listening ear. I remember when I was in a similar place—surrounded by people yet feeling completely alone. One moment of kindness, one conversation, can breathe life into someone who feels like they have none left.
Heavenly Father,
I thank You for the opportunity to meet Craig where he was, to speak the words You placed on my heart, and to encourage my brother. Lord, I ask that You place a hedge of protection around him. Surround him with people who will uplift him and help him find stability. Father, I pray that You provide him with a secure home and plant his feet on solid ground. Let him see You, feel You, and know Your mighty power. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
